17 years hands on Experience in the Leather Industry started my career with M/s. Pearl Leather Indusries one of the oldest and a Tannery of repute in Chennai, as a Management Trainee in the year 1985. For the 1st two years I was given in House Training in the Lime – Yard i.e. Raw – Section (Where the hides are converted from Raw – Pickle –Wet Blue). Then I was trained to assort Raw, Pickled and Wet Blue of Cow & Buffalo Hides. Later on I was trained in the processing and finishing sections. In 1988 was promoted as Manager looking after their purchase and Sales. At that time as M/s. Pearl Leather Industries were exporting finished leathers to London, Mauritius, Austria, Singapore & Hong-Kong had to travel frequently to those countries for negotiating the price and delivery schedules. The company was specialised mainly with Shoe/Upper Leather, Baggage Leather and Veg. Tanned Leathers. Have attended the Hong-Kong and BOLONGNA Leather Fairs a no of times. Have traveled extensively to the Far – East and the European countries. IN 1992 M/s. Pearl Leather Industries started their Leather Goods Division for which I was the Chief Executive Officer Leather Goods (Mainly Manufacturing Ladies Hand Bags) was exported to Italy & Switzerland. Finally, what I want to say is I am confident of handling any department in your organisation related to the Leather Field.
