Hello all-
My name is Marieke and I am the curator of a small museum here in Peabody, Massachusetts. As you may know, Peabody was once the "Leather Capital of the World" with over 100 tanneries and finishers at its peak in the 1920s. Businesses ranged from small family owned places to large corporations like A.C. Lawrence.
Here at the museum, we are aware that those who worked in the leather industry are passing away before their stories can be collected. I am writing to you all because you or someone you know might have worked in Peabody's leather industry. If so, I would very much like to get your thoughts on your experiences.
